The Centre has two good sized halls available to rent. The large hall (Tweed Room) is great for big events such as weddings and parties and the other hall (Leet Room) is good for smaller groups and meetings. In addition, the Connect Cafe room is more intimate and great for meetings for up to around 15 people. The facilities can be rented out on a whole building or per room basis to suit your requirements.
Weekly /Monthly Groups
Archery, Badminton, Yoga, Theatre, Latin, Kick Boxing, Youth Club, RVS Lunch Club, Zumba, Pilates, Handicrafts.
New Groups starting in February 2016 are a Job Club in the Connect cafe and an IT training project - contact us for more informaition on how to get involved.
The Tweed room is used for a host of community events like the Christmas Lights Switch-On, the Christmas Concert, the Ladies Cancer Dinner, the Old Folks' Party, Flodden Presentations, Radio Shows, Twinning (with Bennecourt) events, Community Bake-Offs and the Pipe Band Concert as examples.
Film club - please contact us for more information. The club meets once a month in the Leet Room and is a great way to get out and see a film without having to travel for miles! Due to licensing restrictions the Trust are unable to advertise films outwith the centre, so if you want to see what's on - pop into the centre and check out the notice board in the hall or the poster in the Connect Cafe window!
However, any group or individual can hire the hall, for a variety of events. The Tweed can accommodate between 200 - 250 people depending on the type of event and is perfect for private parties, conferences, concerts and the like. For children's parties the Tweed Room offers plenty space for bouncy castles and games.
We have hosted a few weddings and wedding receptions in the hall which looks lovely when all laid out and we are happy to help and advise you on organising your wedding day. There is a lovely garden to ther rear of the building which can be used for wedding photos and the kitchen is fully equipped to a commercial standard for catering.
We shall be creating a new Wedding brochure outlining services available, but in the meantime if you wish to find out more about having your wedding at the Centre, please contact us - our rates are very reasonable and you can book the whole building or just the facilities you need!
